Top Rated International Accreditation Agencies have been presenting at SEAA Conferences from 2008.
We had chosen "Social Impact of Business Education" as a theme for the just concluded 15th International Accreditation Conference 15TH IAC 2022 held on November for two days, 7 & 8, 2022 (Monday/Tuesday) .
The current year's conference had nearly 30 speakers from around the world representing the UN Global Compact, the Five International Accreditation systems we closely track, leading B-schools and also the Industry and Education leaders to discuss the various aspects connected to Business School education's impact on the society. Detailed suggestions were provided to help the schools to produce leaders for the future who are sensitive to the global sustainability and development. We would presenting our Report on the conference soon.
Day1: We had an extremely purposeful Day 1 of our 15th International Accreditation Conference on a virtual platform where our panel discussion on the theme "Social Impact of Business Education" led by Prof Bijoy Sahoo, Executive vice chancellor of Southern University and A& M college, Baton Rouge. We had an extremely intensive and equally thought provoking sessions from AACSB led by Amy Memon, Regional Head South Asia, EFMD led by Prof Piet Naude Director of the University of Stellenbosch Business School USB and Dr Mark Stoddard, Director of Accreditation of AMBA-GBA. We rounded up with a crucial reminder of the future under our SEAA+Future talk series delivered by Asia's largest atmospheric water harvesting company, Ramarkishna M R Chairman of Maitri Aquatech, Hyderbad. UN Global Compact Network India was well represented by Aseem Kumar, Head Asia Pacific Resource Center of UN GCNI.

Day2: What sort of future managers we would be producing for the emerging social order? Answers to this were complex and varied that were provided by our speakers on the second day panel led by Doug Gilbert of Lone Tree Academics of USA. The debate centered around ethics, values and experiential learning rather than rot learning and industry internships that does not add to learning. The day also saw two International Accreditaion presentations from ACBSP and IACBE, both of whom are doing great work in the area of learning assessment for the social impact by member schools. The two SEAA+Future continued on the same vein of suggesting that the students should be all rounded and just focused on profit maximisation as end goal for industry. Benedict Gnanaish a media professional suggests students are prepared to respond for just based on memory, but attention, processing and sequencing of thought while Dr V J Byra Reddy of Chanakya was advocating Liberal arts learning in Business Education to help connect with society.
The idea is to understand the tectonic changes taking place in the industry having adopted industry 4.0 as a concept central to which is the commitment of industry to society. The future is not for the conventional industry and societal interface where the later is more or less taken for granted with the industry pushing its products and services not based on the need of the society but on the strength and willingness of the industry to open new markets and new needs. Much of the Business Education is to understand the industry consumer interface more as demand push rather than demand pull with the society demanding a product or service and not the industry pushing its products or services whether or not society needs or wants. This is based on the premises of lack of knowledge of the consumers or the perceived purchasing power of the consumers.

MEMBER
The United Nations Global Compact india of which we have been members for some years now looked at the entire industry consumer ecosystem from the standpoint of development which is also sustainable. The 17 Sustainable Development Goals SDGs enunciated by the the Global Compact has placed the industry in the center of the society where it is expected to meet the needs of the society on a sustainable basis. SEAA Trust, New Delhi as member of the UN Global compact has been spearheading the Industry 4.0 debate and the discussions on the New Education Policy of 2019 from the
perspective of what is needed for the society and try and understand what the Business Education processes can do to impact the society by building leaders sensitive to the society needs.
International Accreditation agencies have also understood this shift and all the top accreditors have included social goals as part of the assessment process being rolled out while they evaluate the institutions for accreditation. Our Revised Accreditation Handbook of 2022 in partnership with Indus Business Academy would reflect this new development as well.
6th Peregrine SEAA students case competition
The just concluded 6th Peregrine Global -SEAA Student case competition & workshop also had the same theme "social impact of business education" and sub themes as the conference to help us assess and understand the thought process of the future leaders. We had also requested the Faculty to submit their papers on the same theme and sub-themes to help select three papers that would be presented at the conference in addition to all the submitted and chosen papers being published in our conference book and the student workshop newsletter.
The global business leaders are convinced the technology is no longer the challenge but leadership definitely is. Increasingly the top business schools from around the world are under pressure to tweak the curriculum
